With the official club nets beginning yesterday, alongside the nets partaken at Clapham Common and The Cricket For Change Centre, there could well be a few aching limbs trooping to work in the morning...but it's worth it to be back at the cricket! Happy Friday, Mertonians! The chilly horrors of November have made the summer months feel like a distant memory, although the World Cup has provided some respite for most. As always at Merton Cricket Club, the season heading into cold storage doesn't mean the end of business - the Committee are still meeting, discussing and planning the 2024 season and.... It's happening - our new Junior Cricket section is a GO!

There's only three weekends left of the 2023 season, and typically the best of the cricketing weather has been saved until last. The League season, rain-plagued for pretty much its entirety, wrapped on Saturday with agony and ecstasy dished out in equal measure.

After a damp and gloomy April that derailed the pre-season program for the Saturday League teams, the weather has steadily improved into what has now become glorious conditions to play cricket.
